Sisters, I'm Very Proud of You~!

My younger sisters Alyssa and Pete have gone up centerstage to receive the fruits of their labor. The Recognition Day (for the lower years) and the Graduation Day (for the graduates) were held yesterday, March 31, 2007.

Pete has passed the first year of high school, and she garnered three major awards, including Best in Deportment (I don't know what that means), Best in English (and how about that?), and being the 2nd Honor of the whole first year students.

While Alyssa is now stepping out of her high-school years. Though she only received an Honor Student award, that doesn't make her less of a person. I know that my sister, being able to pursue and finish her high school, is already a great achiever.

Sigh, this occasion reminds me of my high school graduation. I was just looking at the graduates smiling, laughing, crying, so carefree. Alyssa was spending more time with her classmates than with us, but we understand. For one last time, they should be with their classmates. They deserve to be happy, for they have worked so hard on this.

And the Graduation song(s)? No one can't help but sing to the tune of it. They are classics, and new ones too. Let me enumerate:

Go the Distance - Michael Bolton (Sounds better than Hercules singing it. Go MB~!)
High School Life - Sharon Cuneta (I don't really like the tune of it, and I can barely hear the lyrics.)
I Will Be Here - Steve Curtis Chapman (I can sing this version without using any falsetto, as compared to Gary V.'s. ^^;)
I Can - DoReMi (I think only Donna Cruz sang this version, but I love it more.)
Glowing Inside - Nikki Gil (From the shampoo commercial to the graduation hit. Oh well.)
Hawak-Kamay - Yeng Constantino (Er, since when did this become a graduation song? <_<)

I was supposed to be going with my classmates that day on Blue Reef, to go swimming. Yes, this also happens very rarely, but I chose to stay with my sisters. After all, blood is thicker than water, and besides, we still have one more year to plan another swimming escapade. ^^;

And we were able to eat cake at night. Ate Keith brought some mocha cake with thick icing. Yum~!
